Galle Face Hotel: A Heritage Renovation
The Galle Face Hotel opened in 1864 by four British entrepreneurs and has since served as one of the oldest and most storied hotels in Asia, blending Oriental, colonial, and heritage architectural styles. It has long stood as a living icon overlooking the ocean and Galle Face Green.
After construction began in early 2014, Ascentis joined the project mid-stream to guide the 30-month renovation of the North Wing, which included 72 rooms and suites, F&B spaces, lobby, ballroom, executive lounge, new all-day dining, and underground parking. The hotel remained open throughout, with the Regency Wing in full operation. The Regency Wing had been restored in 2006.
